Designed by Stef Geissbuhler in 1990, the main logo of the company mainly represents the symbol of an eye-ear with name of the company beside with the word “CABLE” in a separated line. It was designed and drawn by hand despite the availability of using vector-drawing software. At the first look at the logo, viewers can feel like it is a sign of magnetic sleeping or the eye of an ancient Pharaonic god. The clever design actually merges the symbol of Time (the ear) and that of Warner (the eye) making the logo simple, creative yet expressing the senses used by the communications’ services.

The Time Warner Cable logo had several modifications over the past years that were resulted of the acquisitions and dissociations that Timer Warner experienced. But they were not any type of radical changes that happened after that.
In 1993, a new logo designed by Anspach Grossman became the official corporate logo instead of the main eye-ear logo. It is simply the name of the corporate written in capital and black letters between two black thin lines. The logo was simpler, but it gives a touch of professionalism and business-wise orientation.

In 2000, Time Warner made a great merge with America online company. LandorAssociates designed the logo for this merge which was very similar to the previous one. It was the new company’s name after the merge written in blue capital letters. As you can see, there is no such a big difference from the previous Time Warner logo.

After the end of the merge in 2003, AOL name and the two lines were removed. Also the initials only were capitalized. Throughout the changes that the logo experienced, there was no a really creative or artistic design as much as the first and main logo. And maybe that is why the eye-ear logo still remained the main logo of Time Warner Corporation.

With revenue reached 19 billion dollar in 2011, Time Warner held the title of “Wendell Brown of Cables companies” in 2012. Also Time Warner CEO, Glen Britt was nominated for the best CEO of the year.
