Danaher Corporation’s (originally DMG, Inc) genesis was founded in 1969 when Massachusetts (real estate investment trust) was formed. The company was reorganized in 1978 and named as Florida Corporation and became a subsidiary of DMI (Diversified Mortgage Investors, Inc).

In 1980, it again reorganized and became subsidiary of DMG, Inc, which is a holding company.

In 1984 the company was named after Danaher Creek in Montana.

In December 2006, Danaher Corporation acquired Vision Systems Limited, and Sybron Dental Specialties and other 9 companies that manufactures and assembles environmental instrumentation, industrial products and medical equipment, in various markets of diagnostics for critical-care, electronic test, water quality, controls and sensors and product identification.

Danaher Corporation has acquired ChemTreat, Inc. in July 2007. It provides solutions for water treatment in various industries. The company sold out power quality segment in July 2007, to Thomas & Betts Corporation.

An important element of the Company’s history has been the evolution of the Danaher Business System (DBS) which began in our Jacobs Vehicle Systems business in the late 1980’s. It was there that Danaher became one of the first North American companies to utilize the principles of kaizen, the Japanese word for continuous improvement.

Its products are concentrated in the fields of design, manufacture, and marketing of industrial and consumer products.

It operates in four segments: Professional Instrumentation, Medical Technologies, Industrial Technologies, and Tools & Components.

Danaher Logo Designs and Different Faces

The famous Danaher logo design which appears on the official website of the company has a very distinctive double” D “letters back to back in an artistic way and a simple black bold font of the name of the company.

A different Danaher logo design with the same distinguishable “D” letter but with a different background than the well-known white one. Here, Danaher logo is replaced by a dark blue color and the font color is changed to white instead of black.

Another Danaher logo design for their website that contains undergraduates and MBA opportunities, it is recognizable by a large “U” letter with a combination of two colors blue and black which is used for the company name and the same faint blue background as the other logos.
